Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad - Chama, NM

Headquarted in the small settlement of Chama, New Mexico lies a 64-mile 3' "Narrow Gauge" railroad known as the Cumbres & Toltec. Running on former Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) trackage, this time warp uses original steam locomotives, freight cars, and other equipment to whisk passengers up steep 4% grades to Cumbres pass and Toltec Gorge. From lush pine forests to steep rock cliffs, to dry desert scrubland, this railroad is a feast for the eyes.
