N&W 2156 Ferry Move: Williamson, WV - Waverly, OH
After a five year lease at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia, Norfolk & Western Y6a 2156 was towed back to the National Museum of Transportation in Saint Louis, MO. Many railfans may not have been excited to chase this move (most rail enthusiasts believe the engine should stay in Roanoke, which was where the locomotive was built and operated out of) this was a once in a lifetime run, and the 2156 may not happen again.
Since the engine hasn't ran in over 60 years, a diesel was towing the 2156. Despite this, seeing a Y6a on the mainline is something that will likely never happen again.
