Soo Line 1003 - Hartford, WI
Just a few hours north of Chicago, in the rolling farmlands of Wisconsin, former Soo Line "L-1" engine 1003 makes annual trips on the former Millwaukee Road around Hartford , which is now owned and operated by Wisconsin Southern. 1003 is truly a run-of-the-mill freight locomotive. While many preserved engines of this size boast colorful histories, this locomotive just pulled average, medium speed freight trains for its service life. However, don't let that fool you. Soo Line 1003 and its crew still make a magnificent sight as they romp down the railroad.
